Inland Marine Equipment Hire

Unifloat pontoon hire

Modular Unifloat pontoons can form working platforms and access on rivers, canals and reservoirs. Each arrangement is assessed for the specific site, loading and water conditions.

Excavator working from a modular pontoon
Tug alongside a pontoon working platform
Sheet piling from a floating platform

The fleet

  • 48 NATO Unifloat sections, comprising end and mid sections, with manual spud-leg configurations
  • A 12-section heavy-duty Unifloat system with manual or hydraulic spud legs
  • A Schottel diesel-powered tug
  • Pontoon accessories, with availability confirmed on enquiry

Capacity and water depth

Configurations can carry up to 60 tonnes, subject to an engineered configuration for the load and its position on the platform. Smaller pontoons may operate in around 500mm of water, subject to loading, clearance and a site assessment. Buoyancy, loading and configuration calculations can be supplied.

Applications

  • Working platforms for piling and excavators on rivers and canals
  • Bridge works and access to structures over water
  • Riverside and canal-side retaining-wall construction
  • Access platforms for inspection and maintenance on inland water

Project constraints we plan around

Water depth and level changes, bank access for launching and recovery, bridge clearances, navigation, flow and the weight and position of plant all affect the configuration. DAACE also uses floating plant on its own civil engineering work, including sheet piling from a floating platform at Ringwood Substation.

Coverage

Equipment is available for projects across the UK, with transport and arrangements confirmed for each enquiry.
